Joshua Todd

Director

Joshua has previously studied at South Bank Institute of Tafe, doing a diploma in Film and TV media, learning how to use all VFX programmes, 3D modelling and editing. Always being a lover of films and storytelling ever since he broke his VHS tapes of the Lion King and Batman Forever from overuse, filmmaking was a natural choice.

He was originally interested in a career in editing, but after a few years at Griffith Film School was drawn to the visuals, and the way that directors design their stories. He loves working with actors to create deep and unusual characters and shaping a story through them.

Jessica Dee

Producer

Jessica has always been drawn to a creative career. In high school, her Film and Television teacher gave her the opportunity to be part of a student documentary film crew for the Creative Generation - State Schools on Stage rehearsals and performance. Afterwards, she was annoyed that she had to go back to school because she knew that being the film industry was all that she wanted to do.

Jessica prefers the roles of Producer and First Assistant Director, as she loves being able to work with every department, not only helping shape the film, but making it possible. She thrives on the challenge, the pressure, and being in the thick of the action. She has completed courses taught by Producer/Production Manager Heather MacFarlane (Saddle Club, McLeod’s Daughters) and Producer Lord David Puttnam (Chariots of Fire, The Killing Fields), and worked as Co-Producer on the Virtual Reality project titled “Blurred Minds” which was the first production of its kind, incorporating a live-action game component.

Daniel Lewis

Writer/Production Designer

Daniel has always loved watching films and has wanted to be responsible for making the kinds of films he loved to watch. Lord of the Rings and Star Wars were the films that attracted him to the technical side of filmmaking, leading to the desire to work in the industry.

As a highly visual person, with a strong belief in the importance of set and costume design as a storytelling device, Daniel’s passion lies with the production design department and taking designs from concepts to reality on the screen. He has taken classes with Production Designer Jon Dowding (Mad Max) over two years, which has helped put him in good stead when opportunities come along. Daniel has worked with a handful of local Brisbane musicians (Hey Geronimo, Sheppard, Gang of Youths) and had the fortune of doing work for the National Live Music Awards, MadLane Productions, LiveLab in a graphic design capacity.

Brandon Harrison

Director of Photography/Colourist

Brandon’s passion for a career in the creative industries started when he was studying graphic design, 3D animation and broadcast technologies in high school. The idea of a career that doesn’t involve your typical 9-5 day and can take you to amazing places and see amazing things is really what drew him to the film industry.

Enjoying both the technical side of filmmaking as well as the creative, Brandon find himself at home as a Director of Photography or Colorist. He enjoys being able to shape the feel of the film, and having a large amount of creative input. Brandon is very hard working and dedicated, having worked on multiple productions as he builds his career, including working for HalfBrick Studios (Fruit Ninja) and generating over 34000 views on his content on their Youtube Channel alone.

Liam Polmear

Editor

Liam studied film and television in high school and was highly drawn to it. He was involved in a community film project through the school, and that experience was what really helped solidify his decision to become a filmmaker.

Liam is at home in editing and sound post-production. He enjoys the influence that his actions can have as he pieces the story together bit by bit. He’s developing his skills in managing workflows and finding how to get the most out of edit, finding what needs to be added or what needs to be taken out. Liam had an internship as an assistant editor at VMP, where he now works part-time. He has also worked with Tim Bain (writer for Rove), Mark Norfolk (film editor/documentary filmmaker).

Liam Keogh

Sound Designer

Liam began studying Film and TV in his high school senior years. A combination of this and frequently rewatching the “making of” videos of Wallace & Grommit are what sparked his desire to pursue filmmaking as a career.

Liam prefers both the writing and post-production sides to filmmaking. He enjoys visual flair and good, solid characters, and finds that in post-production, recording foley and live instruments to be a cathartic experience. Liam has edited the music video for the local Brisbane band SERA’s debut single “Doubt Around Me” as well as frequently editing videos for L&L Film Productions, working on three Fruit Ninja Nation YouTube shorts, and has had work experience with the Tasmanian media production company Hype TV.

Annaleese Cochrane

Head Makeup Artist

Annaleese, completed an Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology in 2014 and is now currently studying a Diploma of Cinemagraphic Makeup. She enjoys anything makeup or costume related, and loves help shaping the story through the characters look and really getting to know them, often by being the first person they see in the morning and the last person they see at the end of the day, building great relationships with them in the meantime. Long time friend of Producer Jess, Annaleese was instantly intrigued by Painkiller. Multiple makeup trials were had to perfect the look of Rob and Cass and she loved transforming the actors into their punk/rock alter egos.

Throughout her time at fashion school she explored many different career paths in the industry. In 2014 Annaleese worked on her first feature film ‘Bullets for the Dead’, a western zombie movie. Moving from strength to strength, she has since worked on 5 feature films and over 10 short films. We Were Tomorrow, was a feature film that Annaleese was lucky enough to be apart of in 2015 as a costume design assistant. The experiences have helped her continually grow and learn and she can’t wait to see it on the big screen!

Genevieve Kertesz

First Assistant Director

Genevieve previously completed a business degree at QUT majoring in advertising. While she enjoyed it, she found that it wasn’t her passion. Her passion was filmmaking and in particular directing. She is a Director first and foremost but also loves the role of Assistant Director. Genevieve enjoys both the management aspect where she coordinates all different departments as well as the problem solving aspect where she is constantly faced with different obstacles and challenges.

Genevieve has a strong passion for storytelling and the different worlds it can transport people into, making people laugh, cry and feel and believes it’s really special to be a part of that. Having worked on quite a few short films, a music video and even a feature film “Space/Time” which definitely helped expand her skillset as a filmmaker.
